In order to promote strategic cooperation and in-depth exchanges between Jiangsu Kaifeng Automotive Technology Co., Ltd. and the government of the Democratic Republic of Congo, Jiangsu Kaifeng Automobile Technology Co., Ltd. signed a strategic cooperation agreement for new energy vehicles and fuel vehicles with a delegation from the government of the Democratic Republic of Congo on May 24, 2024 in Danyang city, Jiangsu. With the signing of the cooperation strategy and the landing of the first Chinese vehicle manufacturing factory in the Democratic Republic of Congo, a crucial step has been taken in the cooperation between China and Congo on new energy vehicles, and both sides have entered a new path of jointly innovating the future of energy.

The founder and chairman, Mr.Zhang Wei, co-founder and vice president, Mr.Wang Yugang, and co-founder and executive vice general manager, Mr.Wang Gan, attended the reception and welcomed the delegation from the Democratic Republic of Congo. They had in-depth communications and discussions with the delegation on projects related to new energy vehicles and fuel vehicles.

During the visit, the delegation visited and inspected Jiangsu Kaifeng Automotive Technology Co.,Ltd technology research and development center and production base , and fully affirmed the achievements made by the enterprise in breakthroughs in core technologies of new energy vehicles and the construction of industrial chain ecology. As a leading enterprise in the field of new energy vehicle technology in China, Kaifeng Autos adheres to the concept of actions with words&harmonious development cooperation. Its technological strength and development concept have been highly recognized by the delegation, and two sides have reached preliminary consensus on multiple cooperation projects.

At the invitation of the Democratic Republic of Congo, to show sincerity, Kaifeng Autos’ Chairman Mr.Zhang Wei, Vice-President Mr. Wang Yugang, Vice President visited Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo for an in-depth visit on July 1, 2025. Chairman Mr. Zhang Wei pointed out that promoting the global layout of new energy vehicle technology is the core strategy of Kaifeng Autos. Through the visit of Chairman Mr. Zhang Wei and Vice President Mr. Wang Yugang to the Democratic Republic of Congo, and the investigation and research of the local market, combined with the actual development situation of the country, Kaifeng Autos has formulated a customized program suitable for the development of automobiles in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The four major automotive processes ,Congo customer shall first put into an assembly line, and Kaifeng Autos supply condition is SKD (Semi-Knock-Down). Most of the car's parts are assembled by Kaifeng Autos,  the remaining parts such as the engine, rear axle, front and rear bumpers, wheels, etc. need to be assembled in the Congo production factory; Based on the increase in production capacity, gradually increase welding, electrophoresis, spraying lines, and casting, and ultimately achieve a complete automobile manufacturing factory with an annual output of 50000 vehicles:

1) Assist to establish a local automotive brand in Congo;

2) Assist to establish production and assembly factories in Congo, provide technical training for assembly workers, and train after-sales service personnel;

3) Reduce the transportation, tariffs, manufacturing, and other costs of autos, thereby reducing the operating costs of vehicles and enabling more consumers to purchase cars produced in Congo;

4) Increasing employment opportunities in Congo to bring stability and stability to society;

5) Assist in localizing the production of certain components, such as muffler assembly, seat assembly, tires, rear shock absorber assembly, etc;

6) Establish more cooperation with the government of Congo, utilize the automotive industry platform to bring more projects and development opportunities, and help the development of people's livelihoods in the country, such as providing purified water equipment, bread equipment, etc;

 According to the signed strategic cooperation agreement, both parties will establish a long-term cooperation mechanism in areas such as technology exchange, market expansion, and talent cultivation, and jointly promote the research and development of new energy vehicle technology and industrial landing. And as the core content of the strategic cooperation agreement - the first Chinese vehicle manufacturing factory has landed in the Democratic Republic of Congo, the cooperation between China and Congo will take substantive steps and strongly break through the "zero" level of the vehicle manufacturing factory in the Democratic Republic of Congo! It also marks the transformation and upgrading of China Africa cooperation from traditional mineral trade to high-end manufacturing cooperation.

This cooperation is not only an important measure for Kaifeng Autos to expand its international market, but also plays a positive role in promoting the coordinated development of industries between the two countries. It also responds to China's advocacy and injects new momentum into building a closer China Africa community with a shared future.
